NYU vs. Hunter

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey there,

I've recently been accepted to both NYU's accelerated BSN and a new program Hunter College is starting - also an accelerated BSN that starts in June. Obviously Hunter is much more affordable, but I wonder - is there a big difference in the actual programs? Where are the clinical sites for each? Are the facilities very different?

I'm getting so anxious about it - both seem like such a great opportunity, but I hesitate to be a guinea pig in Hunter's program since its new.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

I know this is a really old post but I just got accepted to NYIT and NYU's accelerated nursing program and I went to the group interview for hunter's accelerated nursing yesterday and is still waiting to hear back from them. Now I am trying to consider which school to go to. Im considering NYU for the prestige and Hunter for the price (if i get in). Any advice would be great!!

Thank you.

Graduating from NYU won't really give you a leg up from other graduates. My school has the highest pass rate of BSN programs in the state and it's not really prestigous. If you plan on doing your Master's then it won't even matter where you got your Bachelor's from.

How was hunter's accelerated program group interview & your applying gpa and nln score if you dont mind me asking?. i just applied for this year..sorry for asking so many questions i just don't know if i still stand a chance in getting into their program (just took the nln yesterday)..were the average scores of accepted applicants lower than those applying to the generic program... did they cut ppl after the interview?
