Hi everyone! I'm applying for the NYU Spring 2015 ABSN program and haven't been able to find any threads about the program yet. Feel free to post questions you have or to share information about the program, your personal stats, advice for writing the personal statement or just to say hi. Here's to speedy acceptances and a fun future in nursing! :)
My Stats:
Just graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Psychology and an overall GPA of 3.38
Got an A in almost all the pre-reqs, don't know the pre-req GPA
Volunteered as an EMT for 4 years and worked for 2 years
Worked as a Direct Care Worker for 1 year
Volunteer in Methodist Hospital in the Stepdown Unit
Thanks hope! @quies, I haven't looked into those programs ( I am from Chicago). I applied to a few in my state, and then to NYU. I am having trouble getting a LOR though because I asked everyone I know to write letters for me back when I wanted to attend medical school, and I don't want to contact them again and ask for another one... Do any of you know if you can just call up a hospital and ask to shadow a nurse?? Although, at this point I don't think I will have time because everything has to be in by Oct 1st for priority.
Hey Ally, good luck to you as well =) I'm wondering how much they look at your prereq GPA? If you have a lower overall GPA, do they even bother to look at your prereq GPA? Hopefully they do give it a decent amount of consideration, because that would help me a lot. We need to liven up this thread! The last thread I was in had a ton of people (although maybe that is a good thing that there are less people here) Are all of you from New York??
Hi everyone! I've also applied for the Spring 2015 ABSN program at NYU. I went to NYU for undergrad and I loved my experience there and in the city so much that I want to go back, despite the hefty price tag. I called the admissions office last week and they said they have received all my transcripts and LOR, although they do not appear as checked off on Albert.
I'm so nervous about getting in! What other schools have you all applied to? I applied to Felician College, Seton Hall University and JFK Muhlenberg School of Nursing.

Hey, it has been a while since I first applied (this is my second time) so I am not sure if I remember correctly, but I think after 1-2 weeks they send you an email with your net ID, and then you log in to Albert with that. You can call and ask, or maybe someone else will see your post on here. Sorry I'm not that much help lol.
