Does anyone who applied or is applying to NYUs accelerated BSN program know what to do about the letters of recommendation? They ask for 1-2 references which can be professional, but the only form I can find on the admissions website is the "Teacher Recommendation Form" which asks questions that are totally irrelevant for a professional reference. I emailed them to ask whether my professional reference should fill out the relevant parts and leave the rest blank or whether they should just write a letter on their own letterhead but I haven't gotten an answer yet.
What did the rest of you do?
I really want to send my reference requests out now.
Thanks!

Hi, I am also applying and I called about the same thing. The admissions office told me to have an employer write the recommendation on their own letterhead.
You're welcome to PM me. I'm applying for Jan. but probably won't end up starting until September because I still have one more pre-req to finish up...

you will need two letters of recommendation. make sure that the employer/professor puts it in a sealed envelope. they can mail them for you but i recommend mailing them yourself so you can use UPS and have a tracking number so you know when NYU receives them. i would send everything at one (transcripts, recommendation letters, SAT, etc), thats what i did.
Good luck!
Joe
also, make sure you give the professor/employer this to attach to the recommendation letter

Thanks guys,
Someone from admissions at NYU finally emailed me back about two weeks later with the answer, which was what missathena said. I had already had to mail them out by then, but whatever..
Thanks anyway
hello,
can i ask what email address you used? two weeks is a long time for a response.
thanks
joe
It was to an Amy Knowles, who is listed on their website as the contact for the office of admissions. She responded very quickly, but only to pass my question along to the Assistant Director of Admissions, who didn't answer for two weeks.
She did apologize for the delay when she finally answered though.

I sent one letter of rec and it was from the doctor I was working for. She didn't fill out that form, she just wrote a letter.

Can someone clarify what is meant by "it has to be in a sealed envelope?" Does this mean that if we've already collected a letter a few months back that it won't work? It has to be sent from the referee themself??
