NYU langone hiring process time

Updated:   Published

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone can provide some insight on how long it took you to land a job at NYU langone (either Manhattan or Brooklyn location), from start to finish. Thank you!

What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing their experiences and timelines for landing jobs at NYU Langone, particularly in the pediatric and critical care units. Some members shared their application processes, interview timelines, and waiting periods for job offers. Others asked about the orientation process, obtaining letters of recommendation, and benefits like tuition reimbursement. Additionally, there was a discussion about the timing of applying for jobs after taking the NCLEX exam and getting licensed.

No love for LI? ? For the job I was offered at NYU-LI, it took about 1.5 months, but I had been applying to jobs everywhere for about 4 months.

My best advice would be to find a recruiter on LinkedIn and connect with them directly.

Haha tbh I forgot about LI. But yeah I was just wondering because I interviewed and have been waiting.

I have 4 years nursing experience in pediatrics/NICU. Reached out to a recruiter back in June about job openings. She forwarded my resume to recruiter who hires for peds @ Hassenfeld. Recruiter scheduled interview with NM of the unit. Next day was contacted that manager wants to move forward with me. Had to wait almost 2 months(from June 30-August 20) because there were no open positions yet. Contacted last week about an open position with start date 10/11 then sent to complete references. Waiting on an official offer letter.

Unfortunately they had to go with an internal applicant due to the union ?

Hi, not sure if this thread is still looked at. Just accepted a new grad RN position on a critical care unit and was wondering what the orientation classes were like? Is it possible to miss one day in a week and still advance? Thanks

 Critical care peds?

The first few weeks are dedicated to didactic classes then after that you go on the unit to your preceptor(s). You can miss a few saga but you’d have to notify the nurse educator and manager in advance and mostly likely you’ll have to make up for that day. When you say one day a week, you mean one day every week??

Nope not every week just have a commitment I know I can’t lose that would be a total of 2 days but in different weeks. That’d be the only time missed. From what I heard I think my didactic component would be 4-6 weeks so I guess 1 day in 2 out of the 4-6.

Assuming of course that it’s Monday-Friday for the didactic classes.
