  1. As a graduate of Hunter's Pmhnp program and now relocated to Cali and working there, the first two pros you stated for NYU doesn't matter. Being a graduate of NYU is not going to be the reason you get a job, maybe in NY they'd consider it, but that doesn't matter anywhere outside of NY. So being 132k in debt over a degree is not a wise decision. I have colleagues who graduated from schools and programs I did not know existed and are working in big corporations and facilities. After you take your boards, the most important thing is landing a job and getting your experience! Your first job may not be something you're particular interested in but getting your foot in the door is so so important. Once you have your experience, the jobs will be the ones calling you! Good luck
  2. Hey hun. I actually only did a semester at Lehman because they had lost their accreditation a few month into the program. I am currently enrolled and almost done with a Psych NP Program I applied to at Hunter College. Lehman FNP has gained their accreditation back so that's good news. The people I know who've graduated from the program liked it there. Good luck!
  3. Told by they recruiter? If it’s not in writing, it’s not an offer. Did you contact the recruiter?
  4. What do you mean informal offer?
  5. Yes. You should be fine. Just let them know in advance. I know two people who went on vacation during orientation because they had it planned prior to getting hired!
  6. The first few weeks are dedicated to didactic classes then after that you go on the unit to your preceptor(s). You can miss a few saga but you’d have to notify the nurse educator and manager in advance and mostly likely you’ll have to make up for that day. When you say one day a week, you mean one day every week??
  7. Hey y’all.. thought I’d give y’all an update, if anyone cares. So NYP didn’t work for me. I went on 4 different interviews. My last interview was for PICU at Cornell which was my BEST interview yet but nope! They said “SIKE” LOL. I accepted a position at NYU’s Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital on their Congenital Cardiovascular Care Unit (CCVCU), the only children’s congenital cardiovascular service in NYC. I’m excited for the learning experience. In any regards, good luck to everyone waiting to interview and to those who’ve already interviewed, hope you hear back with good news!
  8. Update: last week, recruiter contacted me about an open position with start date 10/11. Asked me to complete references. Now waiting on an official offer letter.
  9. I have 4 years nursing experience in pediatrics/NICU. Reached out to a recruiter back in June about job openings. She forwarded my resume to recruiter who hires for peds @ Hassenfeld. Recruiter scheduled interview with NM of the unit. Next day was contacted that manager wants to move forward with me. Had to wait almost 2 months(from June 30-August 20) because there were no open positions yet. Contacted last week about an open position with start date 10/11 then sent to complete references. Waiting on an official offer letter.
  10. @rnbrooklynnyc yes, I’m still waitlisted. Contacted the recruiter and she said to wait a few more weeks??‍♀️. Their peds CCVCU and peds ICU is really small so positions are hard to come by.
  11. @rfg456 yup, waitlisted 2 weeks ago for peds CCVCU. I’m not a new grad btw. I have 4 years experience in NICU and general med surg peds. Interviewed with manager, next day contacted by talent acq that the manager wants to move forward with me so I’ve been “added to the top of the waitlist and will hear back in a few weeks”. Still waiting…
  12. @ees80 hey! Did you get the job?
  13. NYP
