Hi everyone. I just got my acceptance letter to NYU. Regular 2nd bachelors BSN last week (non accelerated). I applied as a transfer and I'm male. I'm probably going to attend.
If anyone is attending NYU in Fall '07 please contact me at [email protected] or IM me at lilkaymin (aim). Accelerated or not, I'm looking for friends and people to talk to. Although, I don't think there really is an 'accelerated' program at NYU. It's just that you take summer school and graduate one term faster. I'll be taking 12 credits of the prereqs this fall and it would be great to know some people ahead of time!

Hello,
By the way, I was in the 15-months accelerated program!
Unlike most of my classmates, I didn't look for a job yet b/c of personal reason and plus I want to pass the NCLEX first. Some of my classmates already been hired and they'll start to work in Sept. As with study time, I'm not the type of person that study everyday and I usually cram few days before the exam (not the best way to study but it works for me). If you're a full-time student with 4 or more classes plus lab and clinicals, I don't recommend you to work b/c it's going to be really tough. With first and second semesters, the clinicals will take up a lot of your time b/c of the care plans. I think every class required you to do some kind of group project or paper and that is very time consuming since everything is "evidence-based" research. The first semester will be pretty hard b/c you'll need time to adjust to nursing school but the material content will be 'ok'. I consider second semester to be really hard due to the fact of the material to be covered like med-surg (with clinical), pharm, maternity (with clinical), psych (with clinical), and professional nursing. By the time you reach to third semester, you'll be adjusted to nursing school and everything will fall into place.
I hope I answered all your questions and good luck to all of you. I really enjoy going to NYU and I hope you'll too.
