NYU ABSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I was recently admitted into the NYU Second Bachelor's in Nursing Program, but since I have not finished all the pre-requisites thus applied as a non-accelerated student, I won't start the curriculum until Spring 2019, so I've decided to start a thread for that cohort.

I also made an (early) Facebook group: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Still waiting! I applied 9/15. I haven't seen any updates to my page either (no checklist disappearing today). At this point it really just feels like I'm waiting for them to tell me I wasn't accepted. Has anyone got in during these last two weeks?

It may be worth it to check in and let them know you have other decisions to make. NYU extended the deadline for health forms, which makes me believe they understand some people are hearing back too late to adhere to their original deadlines.

I am wondering if they have more deposits sent than anticipated, or more "unknowns" out there than usual.

Yikes. U should call NYU and ask when the last week of admissions will be sent out.

There's no information re: 2017/2018 for those accepted in late December, though it doesn't mean no one was.

However, in 2016 people heard back well into the end of December. I believe at least one did get in. I hope your wait ends soon.

Is anyone applying for loans? If so, are you waiting for the financial aid to go through first before applying to private loans to see how much FAFSA can give?

FAFSA often rewards full amount of tuition + living stipend. Be forewarned, you will likely pay about twice as much as your original tuition due to interest.

I'm thinking of applying for loans, I don't think that I'll get financial aid since it's my second undergrad

You should fill out a FAFSA to increase your chances at getting a scholarship.

I applied for it in October. By any chance I was looking into applying for scholarships would you know where I have to go? Thanks =)

These are the ones listed by NYU: Scholarships | NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing

There are more out there but I haven't really looked beyond that. I have a small scholarship specific to my field, but I only knew about it because it was insanely niche (Continuing Ed for Disaster Managers).

Good luck!
