NYU ABSN Fall 2016

I am looking into applying for the NYU ABSN Fall 2016 program. I was wondering if anyone had any helpful tips and thoughts on what I should know when applying for the program.

Hey Heather!

Sorry I'm just responding now we started midterms so it got really busy. Congrats on getting in!

So i'm not sure what the rule is about Langone, I've heard people say 3 semesters but they tell us that they place everyone randomly so I don't know if there's a pattern to it. Like I got placed in Maimonides two times now, some people in my clinical last semester were also placed there again, and some weren't. So not sure about the Langone q - but if it is true thats great! Langone is down the block- Maimonides is in Brooklyn lol.

The difference between 1st and 2nd semester schedules - First, you'll be taking a 6 week rotation course 2nd semester's is Psychiatry. (3rd is Pediatrics and Maternity) Half the class takes it the first 6 weeks of the semester and the other half, the last 6 weeks. This means, that you'll have a Psych Off campus clinical once a week for 3 weeks, and on campus clinical for 3 weeks. While at the same time still going to your Adult and Elder II on and off campus clinical's. So for 6 weeks it's two clinical days, but after that it goes down to just AE clinical's (yay!) - Im the 1st 6 weeks for psych - it's busy, but it's manageable so don't worry!

Also another nice thing is you don't have mandatory open sim slots to complete like you do 1st semester, they're optional if you want to practice.

Hi! I just got notice of acceptance into the Spring 2017 cohort. I was hoping I can trouble you for a little help... do you recall how long after receiving the acceptance notice you were notified about the financial aid package? Also, with the entrance being close to the holidays and lots of parties going on, I wanted to ask about the drug screening and when that happens in the process? Thanks!
