What happens if you take the New York state CNA exam and fail it? Do you get to retake it one more time before having to repeat the class? I haven't taken a cna class yet, I am taking it in February, but i am just curious so i know what to expect just in case i fail. I hope not.

Either the licensing agency (BON or health department) or the plave you took classes should be able to answer your question.

Most states permit one to retest CNA exam. See How to Become a Nurse Aide in New York State
Other states info: Nurse Aides - Pearson VUE:

I am not sure about the state of NY but I know here in Texas you have 3 chances. You would of course pay to retake it. Most people do not have trouble with the written part, it is the skills that some have a hard time with. If you study and go over the skills and what goes along with each skill you should not have a hard time, the most IMPORTANT part is SAFETY & PRIVACY!! Here we get handwashing & communication and then get 3 random skills but we have to pass atleast 4 out of the 5. I believe to retake it here is $98 each time.
