Hey I haven't gotten any information on it yet. I just got an offer earlier this week so I should be getting more information on it soon. I just want to be prepared incase they give me a scheduled date and I'm not ready for it. I've been looking online and found a review sheet, but then again I have no idea if that's even the right one. Let me know if you get any information on it! What unit were you accepted into?
For all those who've read this post and are studying as well - I have made a brief and easy review sheet following the guidelines given to me for the NYP rn.com pharm test. Message me and i'll possibly email it to you. Hopefully you guys can add other important things to it too! Let's swap information friends!
Hi auchiepie are you from instate (NY) or out of state? Just wondering as I see NYP hires many new grads and experienced RNs from out of state. I am from nyc with almost 2 years of experience in maternity and gyn pacu and when I apply to a positions such as nicu and picu the recruiter emails me stating that i do not qualify as i do not have experience in those units (my resume is well edited so i dont think thats whats wrong). However i see new grads from out of state getting hired for picu and nicu and as new grads they def have no experience in any area of nursing. Just curious what the pattern of hiring is with nyp and if i should just give up. Not saying new grads shouldnt be hired, im just wondering if nyp prefers new grads and experienced Rns from out of state as opposed to instate.
Hi @auchiepie and @Jerseygirl12, would you mind sending me the study guides you have made? I just accepted a position at NYP! And I would love to add any additional information that I might be able to find! I don't think I have posted enough on allnurses to be able to message you, but my hope is that you guys might be able to message me with your email and then I can write you back my email address. Please let me know if you're willing to do this! Thanks :)
I had an interview at NYP and a few weeks later they give notice that they are moving on with other candidates. So i didnt even get to take any pharm exam. So frustrating and i have 2 years hospital experience and a BSN but in a different department than where i interviewed. WHen you are a new grad they say apply again when u get experience, but once you get experience they dont want u either. I thought interview went well but i dont have exact experience ....still i have many transferrable skills from my other department. ugh.
Anyways to answer your question, what i heard from others is the exam has exactly what is given on your study sheet. So look those meds up in a drug guide and study them. If you still have a Kaplan nclex guide left over from school, use it also.
