I am excited I got accepted to there lpn program and what to some info how do current students like it anything and everything

hi lady leo,

i am a student in the lpn program at the nyc location. we just ended the first week, which i felt went ok. they split semesters into what they call mods, so im taking 7 credits this mod. some of the classes i find a bit pointless, but i GUESS they will benefit us in the future. its a really nice school, and all technology is up to date. the instructors are all either md or rn which is great. they were very thorough and entertaining lol. lik i said its only the first week, so i shall post later !

Thanks so much for the response Good luck with your studies and please keep me updated I don't start until May so I would love to hear all about your experience.

to ladyleo: I was wondering if you could help me out, i took there entrance compass exam and passed it on my first try but now my admissions rep says that i have to take a kaplan test and to make sure that i score high to basically out shine the other people who are taking the test, my question to you is what kind of material should i study(websites, books, etc.) and what is the highest score a person can get on the test because when i asked those questions to the rep i was basically getting a n unsure answer. Please help if you can because i really want to get into the lpn program.

I'm about a quarter of the way through my second term and I think overall the school is easier than I expected. Being an EMT first, the hardest thing I have had to do was retrain my brain I think about things. My best advise would be study hard but try not to add unnecessary stress on yourself, it's easy to become overwhelmed and if you don't just sit back and breath from time to time you'll have a terrible time for sure.

I to took the compass, and passed on my first shot with good scores I have recently brought the Kaplan Nursing School Exams study guide I think it will help a lot however their is so much material to cover so little time.

sorry i typing crazy.

turtlebob,

Hello I sorry I may not be much help I took the Kaplan without studying anything because my rep called and said there was a spot open for January and to just take it and try if I fail just retake, well I didn't want to start in January but I did want to know what the test was like so I took it. I passed and what I can say is it is very similar to the compass they kept telling you did great on the compass and the kaplan is pretty much the same i didn't believe them but it was. The reading is boring but it is basically read and answer questions in kaplan it is kicked up a notch but not much. The writing is the same as the compass switch out sentences, the math is a bit harder but not by much if you did great on the compass I can't see you failing the Kaplan. I am not good at math at all and I had no study materials I passed. the scores they are vague about I know you have to get at least a 50 or 55 on the math which is what I was focused on since I such at it. I am sorry if this is not much help but feel free to ask me anything you and Good luck.

Hello the first six months is pre req's I don't have the class list in front of me If I find it I will post the classes then the 10 months are lpn classes. I can't tell you how the school is first hand but I know a few people who graduated and they liked was it perfect no but no alarming complaints and every time I go to the school I speak to students there in the lpn program and they are happy with the program. Hope I helped a little

How's the program going? Did anyone finish?
