Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone here is applying or has applied for Spring 2020 at BMCC. If so, are you scheduled to take the Kaplan test already?

I’m transferring to a 4 year after I graduate in the Spring. So excited for you all to begin your nursing journey. I’m still torn a tad between Bmcc and the 4 year but I think I know what my heart is leading towards.*leaning

Congratulations!!! What a beautiful way to end and begin the year ladies!!!! That is sooooo phenomenal!! You all are going to be fabulous nurses!!! Class of 2021!! ??????? Was this everyone’s first time applying?? What were some of your study tools for the Kaplan?? @bookish_RN @Sherine @Malaikabb
Who else was accepted to the day program? Oh btw my GPA was a 3.7 and I performed poorly on the Kaplan.
@SimplySaya17 I’m sorry for my delayed response. Are you referring to prerequisites? For the evening program you have to take AP2 and Microbiology prior to entry into the program where as for the day program you can take them as co-requisites while in the program.
Hope this helps.
@Future_NPmissRe Thank you! I apologize for the delayed response. It was my first time applying to BMCC. I previously applied to a few accelerated programs since I already have a Bachelor’s degree but I didn’t get accepted. I purchased the Kaplan book but it is way off for science. I used quizlets to study for the science section after reading tips on other boards. The Kaplan book was helpful for writing but I think any SAT book or TEAS book would do the trick. I didn’t think the Kaplan book had enough practice tests/questions since half the book focused on the HESI exam which is pretty different. Hope this helps.
@MalaikabbI’ve taken A&P And got a B-. I took micro twice at Lehman the 1st one was a C then in the summer it was B-. Is that good?

Unfortunately, they take your first score, not your second try so if you got a C in your first attempt, then it is a C to them.
Great point @Sherine. @SimplySaya17 I can’t really say but what I do know is that the your gpa and Kaplan score are weighted equally (50% each). If you score really high on the Kaplan it might be able to offset your gpa. Between my gpa and Kaplan score I calculated that I was at about 87%. My guess is they use a ranking score and the top people get in. Hope this helps.
