Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

There forcing people to go back in school. When they did there education. It's so wrong, while they lie to the public about taking away license, so shady. And no one is bringing this to the for front. It came on news and disappeared like never happened

Yea, I'm leaning towards retesting with FL.

Are you a FL resident ?

the nurses I know from my school aren't getting att or if they have an att nybon is telling them that they may not issue them license. I got it before 4/18. This is why I'm nervous about trying to endorse it to other states.

my school is not on the list and got national accreditation recently

I cant believe yall still trying to register with NY after all this happened. SMH.

Your wasting your time with NYBON. They don't want anyone from a florida school that is not accredited.  Thats why some of them that got license from ny is running back to school incase nybon decide to take license away in the future.  But I doubt that will happen at the same time it looks bad when they see what school u came from

It won't look bad because if you have an approved education then they will give you the license. I think that everyone that made it through with approved schools should go back to school. They might have problems when trying to renew their licenses or NYS might take them in the future. We don't really know what they will do at this point because they move so slow in anything they do. Anyone living in NY should go back to school and get your degree from an accredited school. If you live Florida, they will allow you to take the NCLEX over if you took it in NYS already. Get your license there and then get a compact license that will allow you to work in multiple states. Don't sit and wait for NYS because who knows when and how they will respond. Get a head start now guys. Don't wait.

New York board of nursing has three lists that affects all no matter when they graduatd.. ( I am not being negative I am presenting the facts)

1 - schools under review that were apart of federal investigation

2- schools under review by NYS BON for what ever reasons that it may be( 34 schools are under  review and 26 of them are from Florida which is the reason for the third list)

3- NYS BON and their legal team have decided to put schools on hold  that are not listed as being accredited( nationally) so anything listed as approved( is only good for that state it is located in) definitely anything listed as probationary or simply closed are on hold.

Before someone goes well my school was accredited when I applied to school went to school or graduated from school that's not when NYS BON is looking we are looking at school status present day.

Hope this helps people understand what's actually going on even though there is no official time frame

With all said, which makes sense.

Why hasn't  NYBON  taken away license from people that went to these schools that were in fraud. Cause they are all this working with active license. They only sent letters to scare people with no action.

They say they care about the public but still let people keep license and work while penalizing others for those that bought there way. It dosent make sense

please keep in mind those are just the numbers for new york state(schools federally investigated as well) and everyone was sent an email asking to surrender their license within a certain amount of time and they will not face any dicisplanry action. ( NYS is working on a honor and good faith system ) and those who don't NYS BON will eventually revoke  and those people will face diciplinary actions that wil be noted federally and listed on NURSYS/Pearson Vue and it will be even harder for them to ever persue a career in nursing

Yes, Im a FL resident. After trying to pass for 7 years and finally passing on May 4th, unfortunately I decided that im going to retest with FL. I filled out the application, but I haven't turned it in. I also repurchased archer and continued with NCLEX high yield. Apart from God, that's how I was able to pass. Im praying that I'll retest and pass by October.

Yeah, I heard Cali, was starting to get the ball rolling. This is crazy for real

I need a petition or something at this point. This is ridiculous

If people did a petition they would probably act. But people aren't going to do that, everyone so scared even with calling them

@Maria30 I'm going through the same thing. After passing my NCLEX through Hawaii, trying to do my endorsement ,my school call me telling me that NYBON will not give you a license " because lots of students are failing the NCLEX, you should be happy another state give you a license". I went straight into depression mood. After telling all my friends and family, and co-workers I have passed my NCLEX now I can't work in NY.  I call the NYBON and they keep telling me that the school is on probation and first off all it not accredited it approved, so I ask why your give me a LPN license from this same school a year and half go?  She couldn't answer that question. My boss keeps asking me when will I get my license and I don't know what to say cause it is really embarrassing.  ?????.
