I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
If you have received a BSN from a accredited school is this acceptable?
I honestly don't know. U would have to call the board of the state u want your license to see what they say. I don't know if the go by the school u got license from. Call nybon and ask. It's best to know for sure

I have no idea. Let me know how it goes. What school did u go to for BSN?
Unfortunately if a school is under review for academic reasons that affects all graduates no matter when they graduated simply bc if they were taught wrong or not taught something at all we don't know how far back that error could have a occured so that's why it puts a lot of the graduates in this situation.
So frustrating , I will keep in good faith and pray things go well

Even if you already took and passed NCLEX. We will just use education to license you
Hello.
what if you now have a BSN from another college. Can that be applied.

Okay Ford hoped their 'Pinto' car would be the greatest success in the small car industry. They knew they had magnificent design flaws in such that when the car was hit in the rear the gas compartment would explode killing all occupants. they kept the car in production for years after it was determined they had a poor design on their hands. They juggled that selling more cars would make more money minus the pay out for the defective cars that killed MANY. Did any mention God in this scenario outside of when they were dying and the car went up in flames!. Did anyone pray when they got into a Pinto......please God don't let me die! Praying and faith have nothing to do with your choice of college. NO God does not endorse your college course. (Today you have so much data to determine the best college for YOU). Frankly you have so much more information at your fingertips than any previous generation.
YOU (you) have more information at your fingertips to look at NCLEX pass rates, completion rates and the ability to hear from others who went through the program. Use it.

A BSN additional course work that was not covered in your ADN program is just that. It is not a regurgitated course work that you do not have idea of the theory or case work work....although you think you are a jack of course trades. . .
I broke my hip... been a nurse for 50 years had a BSN, welcomed through the home health service an RN who I had taught 20 years ago and she was now a BSN Home Care Nurse. I needed my shower set up and how to use my walker to get into bed. I NEEDED AN EXPERT. She did home critical thinking and instituted safety measure and very many health measures. For ex., how to walk 4 to 6 times times a day through my house.,(I have a big house)
.. We never taught that in an ADN program. The ADN programs instituted by Montag were never intentioned to provide Public Health Services.. Mildred Montag's program was a 2 (two) year program to create professional jobs IN THE HOSPITAL>
@londonflo u seem very negative. But OK I understand. But your stories aren't helping in anyway.
@londonflo I also agree that your being completely negative when we are all trying to uphold a positive atmosphere here. Sorry for your personal experiences you went through but I don’t think this is the right thread to complain or place misdirecting frustration. If your not sharing anything useful or uplifting please move along. God bless

If any credits from a "bad nursing school" was transferred to that different school where you received a bachelor's degree the answer is no you won't be able to apply that to a NYS license

When a school is under review by NYS and you have already passed the NCLEX but have not gotten an official NYS license this is what you do
You can go on NYS BON website request written verification when it asks for license # just put 000000 and then have it sent to the satet you want to be licensed in
