I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

NYS has also added Florida college of health and sciences to nursing school under review.
For those who have gone to a school that's under review worse case scenario is if ny denies education and you want to be licensed in NYS you will need to go to another nursing school like you never went to one. Even if you already took and passed NCLEX. We will just use education to license you
They tell u nothing. Even the school u go to they give no info
They can give you on what schools are under review. The people that take the calls don't know specifics on the actual review itself or why it's under review or how long it is going to take..
To be honest palm beach and siena college of health Siena educational center, since the owners are in jail and dealing with federal investigation and two states have already denied education because of falsifying education records . I highly doubt NY is going to approve the education from these schools
Wow thats crazy. U been so helpful thank u.
Do u happen to know anything about carleen school. Cause this is the second time they been on hold and I don't know what for
Nothing specific..but typical reasons a school can be under review are:
Not meeting states academic requirements.
Not following laws properly orr low passing rate which causes loss of accreditation
To many fraudulent transcripts and degrees coming in and not being in the list of graduates/ attendees of the school that we get

Learn to look at pass rates --those students who pass the NCLEX.. Carleen has DISMAL rates.
https://floridasnursing.gov/forms/RN-pass-rate-1q-2021.pdf Look at pages 26 and more! To make it easier, you can just add the page number at the top.
I kinda doubt if Carleen got sick she would want one of her graduates take care of her....
@starr2022, I am almost finished with my BSN won't this be enough?
Its wrong for the students that went to get held back. They need to look at who went to the school when they were off the board. Cause if u started after that should be questioned
I have no idea. Let me know how it goes. What school did u go to for BSN?
I don't know.. let me know if they accept and u get your license. What school did u go to for BSN?

Most of the Florida storefront Strip mall schools never even attempt accreditation. Accreditation traces where the tuition $ goes, what $ is in reserve and do not want to see that the $$ is going into the owners pocket. Accreditors also spend a tremendous amount of time to determine that there are money reserves in the college and an adequate source coming in yearly to continue the program. Another very stringent area of an accreditor' review is the education and achievements of the faculty. Schools need more than an RN (no additional adress) teaching and RN student. Shouldn't faculty need to be able to do research (even if it is just a literature review? do help students look to the future. Finally, we all had to show skills excellence -- how do we teach a skill of we cannot do it ourselves?>
Another BIG area is how the faculty teach...and REALLY mean teach....You can not leave floundering students to teach themselves. I read this on this side often...."I can teach my self"! Then what are you paying tuition for, fool
