I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
The problem is everyone is taking exam with NYBON. NyBON will investigate when they have too many people from out of state schools. If u live in ny, you will be stuck because, there not going to give license when they have already came to a conclusion of fraud with a school; it does not matter if you've taken exam already
Why they are not even releasing those people score to their home state granted you don't want to issue them a license at least let them be licensed elsewhere im talking about people who went to other schools not by the other 3 schools, why are they adding more schools to the list each time. Plus I'm pretty sure NYBON knows who got their license illegally why is it taking so long over a year almost
I'm not talking about myself. Im talking about those who are actually affected by this whole thing. Yes you should get a lawyer if you went to those 3 schools and obtain your license illegally, plus how they want them to prove they actually went if the schools are closed? my question is why the NYS is adding more schools to the list that weren't on the FBI radar.

I would like to know how they are choosing who to send emails to seeing as they don't know who actually attended and who did not. The NY state education department says it themselves that people who were not involved in the fraud might be affected and this is unfair. If there's a class action lawsuit, I'm interested in finding out more.

How long did you take your test?
I gotta wonder why it is better to wait it out (not getting any RN salary for many years) versus obtaining an attorney? We have had AN members say do get an attorney if you did not do anything illegal. Something illegals to happening to you.. Contact fellow students...get an attorney. This was done at Excelsior and the students got recompense. CONTACT that attorney.
Maria30 said:@Tara45 it isn't fair I agree. But if u have proof and can show all your classes and clinicals signed off by instructor and flights and hotels with your name on it. Then you should get a lawyer. But u don't have a license, then it doesn't make sense
I get the clinical information which is something that might be able to confirm that you went to the school. people please stop thinking that showing flight or hotel information is a valid proof of have attended class or clinicals because it is not. that is just proof that you were in the city/state at a certain time period.

even if obtainging an attorney to help guide you legally on what to do is fine but it will not expidite a review of a school to help you get your license or score information.
@Tara45 all you can do is wait. Fl and all the fraud people were doing made them start to look into other schools; cause too many people taking exams in NY. It's really sad that people have to suffer because people wanted to cheat the system and not go to nursing school and get the proper education.
@starr2022 its not just flights and hotels, its everything together. Classroom and clinical site proof.

right if NYS BON or any BON at this point wants true verification of attending a school they only thing that is going to bare any weight in merit would be class work and clinicals not flights and hotels
