I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
I wanted to know if another nursing board from another state can request your NCLEX score report. Would they give it out?

Not if new york has the school under review. they will not be giving out score reports
@starr2022 what are the schools under review for? Is it accreditation? Where would I find this information?

most of the times the common reason why a school due to academic ,meaning a school has taught something wrong or not all; accredation due to low passing rate. then there is the major fraudluent scenario of transcrips being sold to people who don't actually attend the school. or the school is a made up one that does not actually have a nursing school

Starr 2022 is the best resource for these graduates, she is knowledgeable, informative, patient. Always glad to see her posts.
Florida has had many 'predatory' programs (my words) for some time. The FBON approves the initial start of the program, but seemed to have their hands tied to act on programs that do not deliver what they promised. On AN we read so many students in these programs stating "I taught my self"! May be they are thinking this is positive for their program's curriculum? Yes, I want to pay $18000.00 for that!
A couple years ago Florida instituted that a school would need to become accredited by a nursing program accreditation (ACEN or CCNE in within 5 years. from the beginning date of of their existence ) In effect they said "let someone take care of the programs you know; the poor performing programs) Well the 'fly by night" schools did not achieve anything resembling a nursing school that is accountable to the education pass rates of it 'students' . The most interesting fact is that NCLEX pass rates for these programs pass rates are only calculated for the those taking NCLEX within the first 6 months of graduation.
I feel these (predatory programs- my words) thought they could brush off the accountability for ignoring their responsibility for delivering a sound education . ) ,
my friend went to med-life do you know what they are under review for? She graduated in 2017 and just took NCLEX so same situation.

@londonflo what does that mean for the people that graduated in 2017, 2018 etc before it was closed caused the board was accepting it before
I wanted to ask star2022- If you got your RN license in florida by endorsement. Can you go to florida and work as a nurse and will they renew your license after two years even if your school is under review in nyc by exam. If nyc BON denied your license. Will florida still renew your license?

I’m in the same boat but haven’t had any issues with florida renewing my license. I just renewed in April.

T Jasmine if you have not passed the NCLEX in NY apply for another unlimted state my friend went to medlife and NY would not issue her a ATT .She went to another unlimted state passed the exam and is waiting for CT to approve her license from the state she tested in they told her they have no issues with approving it. Although she will not be able to work in NY until she gets a BSN or until the investigation is over. CT is close enough for her to work and also New Jersey. You might try this route. Good luck to you .
