Hi there,
Not sure if anyone has any input, but I've been told by NYSED that it is currently taking average 1 year for a out of state/country license to be evaluated, which is insane to me. I have 11 years of acute care experience and I'm back in my home state after educating in canada. Is there another way around this somehow to have this done faster? I can't imagine many people can afford to wait a year. Thanks.

currently licensed in NJ and PA. Put in my app for RN on 10/23. at that time website stated they were evaluating out of state apps received third week of Aug. Since then website has been updated to applications received 9/9.
Another really annoying aspect is I'm trying to get my NP license. I've been told by NYSED that I can't even apply for NP until I have my NY RN.
I'll update here when anything changs.

that's so ridiculous to me.
I'm applying from a Canadian license, but can you apply to another state and then apply to transfer the license to NY?
Hi. I’ve got NJ and PA licenses. My issue with NY is that you have to get the RN license BEFORE you can even apply for the NP license-two wait times. dates as of Dec 3 attached
