NVCC Spring 2020

U.S.A. Virginia

Hi,

I started this thread for those that want to chat, brainstorm and encourage each other through the application cycle.

Most likely they will go down the tally sheet to select the next 20 as long as they meet the minimum requirements. But I highly doubt 20 people will give up their spots unless they have a life changing event. There is no waiting list.

On the online information session it says you need to upload all attempts of the TEAS exam. I thought if you took it multiple times you only needed to upload your best score?

no they go through and select the best score. Upload all your score test sheets. The paper that the testing center gave you when you finished. It has a stamps with date on the sheets.

Does anyone know how competitive it is for this application? I just want to already know

check out this blogpost by MEC: https://blogs.nvcc.edu/mecexchange/2019/02/27/am-i-a-competitive-applicant/

For nursing, applicants are ranked by prerequisite courses and test : BIO 141, PSY 230, and TEAS scores

In addition, they are assigned extra points for the completion of their general education co-requisite courses (not required for application): BIO 142, BIO 150, CST elective [229, 110, 115, 126], Humanities elective

I wonder if you just get one extra point for the completion of the non-required co-requisite courses or if you get extra points on top of that if you got an A in the course too.

I wish they would they would give points for GPA like they did in the past. I worked so hard to get a higher GPA. Now its changed to something else. I test tomorrow then applying.

I’m in the same boat at you. All we can do is our best. Good luck tomorrow! I’m taking the test & applying tomorrow as well. We got this!

Hello! Me personally, I have the humanities pre-req done and I’m taking BIO 142 now. I’ve been working on pre-reqs for my Bachelors too

I submitted my app;ication. Now I wait...again.

I have completed all required and other classes. The only thing Im missing is a humanities but its not required for admission just for graduation once in the program. I have the rest of the other classes to get extra points.
