NVCC MEC nursing fall '17

Published

Hi all,

i submitted my app for the fall nursing program a week and a half ago so I figured I'd start a forum for all the NVCC MEC nursing applicants to communicate with each other while we anxiously wait for our faith. If anyone in the program or have graduated from the program would like to give some advice, please do!

yesterday, the one girl posted at 1:21 that she got her acceptance, and another said she got hers around 2. they havce a way smaller pool so in my opinion, WE ARE STILL OKAY. Doesnt mean im not about in tears and about ready to puke HAHA I am def ranked domicile 1 (i live 15 min from the MEC), I have an 87.5 on all areas of teas and got into MAT 181 for the testing (maybe this screws me bec its not good enough? but counselors said I was in the top 10% for testing based off last year so who knows) and I have a bachelors degree. I have a 3.4 in pre reqs, and have all the co reqs done besides pharm. If I dont get in, there is something seriously messed up hahaha. seriously freaking though OH EM GEE

I'm unsure how far that covers! I would watch the video I linked about the domicile review earlier on this thread. Also, they didn't say how many people they accepted but I haven't read everything too thoroughly yet and i'll let you know if they did! Don't give up hope y'all i'm sure there will be people who decline their acceptance.

I'm a nervous wreck right now! On my TEAS I got 100 in writing, 84 on the reading section, and a 88 on the math section. I got all A's in the science's and SDV and I got a B in English 111. A 3.7 overall GPA.

HEY VICTOR and CNA NIGHTOWL is your academic program changed to nursing yet?

Same here except I had different teas 98 in the math 79 in the grammar and 79 in the Reading. I had all A's in everything else and I fulfilled all the Co-requisites for the program as well in prep to apply to Mason. Who did accept me as a transfer student. But I have nothing over here, so it must not have been enough. All I can do is regroup and try again.

Tania - I just checked my degree requirements and it doesn't look like it!

ok so ill stop refreshing that page LOL thanks

I'm hoping that maybe they're just doing them in batches or alphabetically?

I do want to say that if you haven't confirmed your attendance to the Thursday orientation by Tuesday, then the seat in the program will be forefeited and given to another applicant. So I would wait until Nova says everyone has accepted it/ Wednesday before you for sure think you didn't get in! I think the biggest part of this program is that it's not that you aren't qualified if you didn't get in, it's just that there wasn't enough space, so please don't give up hope!

I think Alexandria is still priority 1, as they have an NVCC campus in Alexandria.

I'm in Fairfax County, in the Fair Oaks area.

Any of the counties/cities directly served by NVCC (Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Prince William, Loudoun) are priority 1, I believe.

I think Stafford County is outside of the direct NVCC service area.

I'm so tempted to call and ask

I'm hoping that maybe they're just doing them in batches or alphabetically?

I think it is at random :) or maybe it is by ranking?
