NVCC Hybrid - October 2015 (January 2016 start)

Hello!

Starting this thread for those who are interested in attending NVCC's hybrid program that starts in 2016. My fiance will be an applicant :) I'm already an RN in the area. Just saying hi!

Last week I received a confirmation receipt. It was different from the confirmation email. It states that orientation will be held at the Medical education campus, December 1st at 9am and is mandatory for those accepted. There are also two other online orientations required. I have a friend who was accepted for the fall program. She gave me the inside scoop on what happens if accepted. There is a lot to do and only two weeks to do it. Off the top of my head I remember:Physical, background check, drug screening, BLS certification, flu shot, , Orientations, Math diagnostics test, Philosophy of Nursing paper, order supplies and register for classes. I'm so nervous and overwhelmed but excited at the same time.

FedEx delivered my application Oct. 29 and I haven't received my confirmation yet. Please let me know when you receive yours!

Only 1 more week until we hear back about admission to the program! So nervous! Next week is going to be a really looooong week lol!

Wonderful! I'm so glad to have found this post! I too have applied to the 2016 hybrid program..did anyone notice the TEAS requirements were lowered? They were 78 before now 58..I chalk it up to not having enough applicants?

I sent my application on Oct. 21st. and I got a confirmation letter that they have received it..I have been stalking the mailman ever since. I have read in these past comments that we would know by the 15th...I am really curious to see how the week is planned out. I have gotten the "fillers" out of the way and have searched NUR 111 and NUR 150..of course these guys are mostly online but NUR 111 falls on a Friday between 8 am to 3 pm...I wonder if those are the clinical hours? Are we starting clinical right away?

I did notice the change in the TEAS requirement. I asked about it and the woman I spoke to made it seem as if the actually score wasn't important. She said "it is just one of the boxes we have to check" whatever that means. The lower requirement worries me. I feel it will mean a lot more applicants and a lower chance of acceptance. Luckily we will know soon enough.

Also, I believe they do start clinical rotations right away. I read that clinical sites are assigned at orientation.

My confirmation of application just came via in a letter. I was surprised that it came in an actual letter, I have been checking my email like crazy. I am sure that these letters are generic, but mine said IF I am accepted there will be a mandatory orientation session on Tuesday December 1. It talked about the requirements that are a must before start of classes on Jan 11th. It also said do not begin working on any requirements until an acceptance letter is received.

They probably lowered the TEAS score to allow more students to apply, to seem more competitive. I suspect we will find out either this Friday or on Monday. SOO NERVOUS!!

I'm so excited I found this!! I've been so obsessed with checking my email, running to the mail box every day after work, and doing online searches for answers and finally this; JOY!!! I've also applied and received a letter of confirmation detailing orientation and such; I just wish the letter of acceptance I've been working so hard towards pays off and finally arrives soon. My husband thinks I'm nuts, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is anxious to move forward!! Good luck to you all and I hope we all get fantastic news really soon!

We are definitely all in the same boat here haha, I am checking 24/7 as well. Hopefully the holiday tomorrow helps the week speed by. best of luck!

Hi all - thanks for some valuable info. I'm definitely in the same boat as everyone here! I received an email stating that my application was received but I never got the letter in the mail that some of you are talking about... This makes me a little bit concerned - anyone else not get the hard copy?
