Hey guys,
I started this thread in hopes of connecting with people who applied for the Traditional Nursing program at NVCC. I have been corresponding with them via e-mail and am anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter. Hope everyone else submitted their applications without issue! Maybe we can cheer each other on :)
Hope to hear form you all with questions, concerns and comments!

I got the processing emails as well! It's really scary. I'm so nervous. Wow amazing GPA! you don''t have anything to worry about I'm sure haha 4.0 is as great as it gets! I'm really nervous I also have a 3.0 in prereqs because I got a C in an A&P course since I had to leave the country and my professor was being a pain and told me she would give me an F just because I missed one class and that is exactly what happened. I'm very thankful I managed to get it to a C before the end of the year. TEAS wise I got really high scores that one of the MEC campus tutors was beyond impressed so I hope they can overlook the C for this
Are you talking about the RN to BSN momentum program? I heard that is actually suspended right now.
And everyone being accepted last year actually isn't a rumor, it's true! The MEC campus counselor told me everyone got in I believe due to the fact that there were enough seats. I really hope that's the case this year.
They def. are taking a long time. I believe we should get our answer around next week because they said it's 4 weeks after the application deadline. However anyone else get the email regarding campus touring and immunizations as well as everything we must do if accepted?
I am doing the RN to BSN at Mason (or at least hope to!). Still waiting for my acceptance here. I didn't study for TEAS and did just ok and have a 4.0 on my preReqs. Hope I get in. There is some question about my math, as it was from my degree at the University if Texas (I don't know know if they will accept it). I wish they would tell me, or make me take a math placement test! Good luck to everyone. I sick of checking my e-mail waitin for a letter!

Wow your professor sounds like a serious jerk.. Did you look them up on rate my professor before? That's what I do with all my classes now haha. And no, I didn't mean the momentum program but it would be nice if they still did that. Also, I didn't get any email about touring or immunizations? Maybe that's a good sign for you!
Mitiku12, you didn't have to take the TEAS? Did you already take it from a previous school?
Allietx, I believe they can wave that stupid placement test requirement if you have a bachelor's already but I could be mistaken. To my knowledge, if you have a previous degree, all you need is your A&P prereqs.
I have a feeling that the acceptance letters and emails will come next week, I think it's been about a month now already? They must have had more applicants than last year.
Hello Everyone,
I've been anxiously checking my email after receiving the third "receipt" confirmation I got last Monday. I wish they would tell us already so we can stop stressing! I've been exercising and cleaning like crazy to keep my mind occupied. Hopefully the attachment with the nursing orientation date and the list of things to complete once accepted is a good sign.
Good luck to all of us, I hope every single one of us is accepted :-)

Yeah she was def a jerk! Yes I did and she didn't have the greatest reviews however she was the only one that fit into my time slot but she def was a jerk to the whole class to the point where we all got up and reported her to the dean together Oh ok yeah it would have been amazing if they still did that. Yeah in the email it had orientation dates and it was attached in another email saying the application was being processed that all of us got before after submission. I really hope so. I have no backup if I don't get into this.
Anyone have backups just in case?
yeah it should come by this week....it's def scary tho. I believe there are more applicants this year as well since it's taking so long. Let just cross our fingers and hope we all get in just as the applicants did last year.
I agree, the longer wait is making me more anxious. We should hear back this week, hopefully no later than Friday.
I don't really have any back up plans, this is my first choice. I got rejected from Mason's traditional BSN program, but got accepted to GMU. Shenandoah and Marymount could be options I suppose, but they're crazy expensive and we would have to take the science portion of the TEAS. That test was stressful enough, don't wana go through it again.
PreetM: I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience with your A&P teacher! What a nightmare! I had a similar situation my first semester at nova...I wonder if it's the same teacher? I got a C in the class, retook it, and got a B in someone else's class.
Ahh the same happened to me! The BSN program denied me as well :/ and going to GMU isn't going to be helpful since all pre-reqs are done and all that's left is nursing school. I was looking at Shenandoah too! Apparently they are still accepting applicants till July 1st! however it's def very expensive and I doubt financial aid will help so much. I agree TEAS were very stressful and we were lucky in not having to take the science portion because I have heard that that's a very hard section to pass.
Nurse2be35: Ahh maybe we both had the same teacher! Was it at the manassas campus? That's where I had her. I should have retaken it. I'm beyond paranoid. I guess if I don't get in it will be because of that...so I'll have to retake it
btw does anyone know if they let you know why they denied you if you don't get in?
