NV LPN Licensure trouble Army Program Grad

Published

Are there any other army trained lpn's in nevada that are licensed? I graduated from a practical nurse course 300-91c20 back in 97 and have never had a problem getting licensed in NC RI, and MA (where I am currently working). I want to move to NV soon and applied for a NV license by endorsement and they denied me saying the program wasn't accredited :( Any NV nurses that went through any armed forces nursing programs input appreciated

Hmmm, how about checking at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas? Or an Army base? I worked with several Army LPNs while we were stationed in Alaska from 86 to 88 and found them all to be quite competent.

I can't answer the question, but being a former 91c myself I find it very odd. West Virginia feels that we are trained well enough that they will even allow Army trained 91c's to take the NCLEX-RN without any further college or training.

Cali will let 91Cs take RN boards as well.

Just wanted to add to my post. Nevada did license me a few weeks ago. It was an error on their part. They said that my course was coded incorrectly. When they looked into it further they realized my course was fully qualified. I now have my temporary license. Good thing, because I:m moving to Nevada the first week of September. Now I just need to find a job. :)
