Most nursing schools are at colleges, especially if you are wanting to get an NP or nurse practicioner. I would recommend doing pre-reqs at a community college or state college and also trying to shadow a NP to get a feel for what they do.

I'm confused... do you want to be a pediatric nurse or a pediatrician? To become a pediatrician you will need to go to medical school.

In order to be a nurse practitioner, you need to be a registered nurse. Most nursing programs are taught at colleges or universities, although there are still some diploma programs located at hospitals.

A pediatrician is a physician. That will require pre-med, medical school, internship and residency.

I'm not sure if you've confused the two disciplines, but they are vastly different.

Regardless, good luck to you in whatever you decide to do.
