NursingCAS Complaint

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I believe this company is fraudulently charging their customers by advertising schools that do not participate in this centralized application process. They advertise a list of participating schools and allow their customers to select from the list and the customers are then charged an application fee. However, they have schools on their list that do not actually communicate with. When I learned I selected, and was charged $35, for a school that does not use NursingCAS, I informed CAS in writing. I requested the school be removed from their list and I requested a refund. I was never contacted nor was my card credited. I see that the school is still on this list which I find remarkable as they are now knowingly engaged in false advertisement which leads to the purchase of a service they are not actually providing. I spoke to a *****on 5 Jan 12 @ 0928 and was told a supervisor would return my call in 24-48 hours. I spoke to a *****on 6 Jan 12 @ 1336 (I called myself) and was told they would not provide a refund and I needed to talk to the school. Since CAS is the one who seems to have gained my application fee, I was speaking to who I needed to be speaking to. I was never provided any answers and ***** refused to discuss anything further with me nor was I allowed to speak to her manager. I believe this company is stealing money from people who think they are applying to a school and in reality the school has no ties with this business.

I am currently fighting with this system. Aside from having to enter over 200 credit hours by hand (because I refuse to pay them $150 when they already have my transcripts) they have listed one of my transcripts as being from the wrong school. I emailed them and never received a reply, so I called this morning and was given the run-around and told it will be fixed in three days. In the meantime, I had to pay for and submit my application because the deadline is tomorrow (oh yeah, she tried to argue with me about the date and tell me that my application isn't due until the 15th!). I have already submitted a complaint with the BBB and intend to call back and demand a higher authority if it is not fixed. Why do all of their call staff sound like they were dropped on their heads as children?? I am intending to submit a complaint to my school as well. Since this system is the only way they will accept applications, I think they need to understand what a horrible company this is and that they would be better off without them.[/quote']

I had a terrible time with CAS, too, and I had about 250 credits. The double entry system is absolutely ridiculous. It was months before I was able to straighten out complications, and it delayed my application.

I don't actually submit my application until June, when it opens, but I already created a profile & entered in all 108 of my credits. ( I feel so bad for all of u entering in way more than that!) I never understood that either since we have to send transcripts anyways....I hope I don't run into the same problems but assuming there's a lot of responses....I'm sure I will. Hopefully you all got it all figured out!!

Word of the day: Officious! Customer Service is out of the question! God forbid there is a single typo error on any of your 6 or 7 transcripts!

You are unable to explain anything to Customer Service, any attempt to explain a simple typo error is considered arguementitive and "unprofessional". If you are looking at all the transcripts that you received it is obvious that a typo error was made 31 years ago. They want proof of not attending a school I never attended! Well there are a million schools I have never attended! The lackies refused to let me speak to a supervisor! I researched who the Director was and HE came to my rescue! Thanks Bill! But really this whole experience has been a total nightmare! Its a money making scheme. The college already has all my transcripts! Every time I called I advised them of the error and all customer service did was state that for a mere fee of $$$ (can't remember the fee) but it was about $100.00 or so, they could aquire my transcripts and for another mere fee, of such and such the could input it! These woman are heartless and insane! Makes me so not want to be a nurse. What is up with these women? Men are easier to communicate with from my point of view. Anyway I am not a fan of Nursing Cas! They really need better customer service. I find to be a bureacratic scam!

I actually put in a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. For a business who deal with nurses - they need to adjust their tactics. April 2020, I decided to apply for my doctorate. Since I am  military, I have been to 5 schools and paid for the Professional Transcript Entry. I do not recall submitting a year for the transcript entry. I called Nursing CAS a month later about my transcripts, and they stated they would be put in upon submission of my application.

September 2020, my first application was submitted. I was completing a refresher statistics course and thought that was the reason my transcripts had not been entered. After completion of my course in October 2020, I had my transcript submitted. Nursing CAS politely told me to submit all my credits because I had inserted most of them. I declined and stated I paid $95 for the service and I would like the service I paid.

Facts

1.     Paid for transcript entry April 2020

2.     Paid application September 2020

Nursing CAS stated I paid for my transcript entry for the 2019/2020 school year and the services could not be forwarded to my application date of 2021/22. I did NOT submit an application in 2019 or 2020.

Issues:

1.     There is no clarity when you pay for transcript entry for time frame.

2.     There is an application/ transcript rule but it does not state they both have to be submitted simultaneously.

3.     Why would a service paid for not be rendered when the stipulation is completed.

Request:

1.     You reimburse individuals the funds if you do not provide the service.

2.     You put in the transcript entry when the service is paid for regardless if an application has been submitted.

3.     You forward the transcript entry to the next year if the application is submitted.

4.     You change your policy to clarify the misdirection noted by several applicants.

5.     Show accountability!
