In trying to tackle as many of the prerequisites I can in a short amount, I was informed of an online course option that was offered through Geneva College via Portage Learning.
I have searched and searched to find detailed reviews of people who have taken a course - to no avail!
If anyone has taken a course from these providers, could you please give me your feedback?
As much information as possible would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all in advance!
I have taken three courses through Portage. The A&P were not difficult for me, but Chemistry was not 'easy'. I have taken Chemistry in high school and college, so I had familiarity with the subject. However, this course is math intensive, and there is a lot of work you need to do for each unit. In addition, it has to be entered into the tool - typing in math problems took me a while. I was always cutting it close on exams, or running out of time. I would have been much more comfortable just writing out the problems instead of trying to type out (sometimes very long, complicated) problems on the pc. That said, I did get an A, but if I could do it again, I would take it in person. There were some concepts that were not well-explained, and I had to go out on YouTube or find other sources to figure them out so I would understand them. In my opinion, you will spend much more time working on this self-taught format than if you just went to class a few days a week.
I highly recommend portage to everyone they allow you to move as fast as you want I was in a crunch for a class and was able to study a module and test each day and was done the class in 9 days (I did all the labs in a day then the final the next day)
You did all the labs in 1 day?? That's what i need to do... I am taking microbio now and need to finish by next Saturday. The labs are super short though! So we can only take 1 exam a day... but that doesnt apply to labs right??

And I figured out the answer to the course catalog info! Thank you so much for all of your replies :-)
The catalog just lists the Portage classes as "online only," but that is not an issue because the school is regionally accredited.
