I'm sure this topic has been widely discussed, but I am not inclined to search the forum for an answer.
I would like to offer my skills and experience to the US health care industry but I'm not entirely sure that my age (53 years) is acceptable for employment. I am aware that I must sit examinations and pass immigration checks.
My nursing experience ranges through paediatrics, critical care, emergency, surgical and general medical.
Cheers

Age is usually not a factor in gaining employment. What matters is clinical experience and education, sounds like you have nursing experience.
The USA is over saturated with nurses, and jobs are hard to come by.

That is generally true for new grads but with experience I have not really found that to be the case. The problem in my hospital currently is not an over supply of nurses but an under supply of patients due to so many people having lost their insurance. Many are waiting for a LONG time and when they come in they are really sick. But I live in Arizona. I don't think you can generalize that it is the same throughout the entire US.

Research is a key and I am sure you could easily be inclined to research.
Key words for research for the US is retrogression and the 6+ years wait you will have to get a immigrant visa. H1b is rarely used by nurses however finding a employer willing to go the route may be hard.
