I don't have any kids and a couple of friends I know said they were able to do it. I just want to see what everyone else feels about it? WHat are some other options? Have any of you became a CNA after first term? Ive been working so hard to get here and I would hate to think its impossible. Are there any suggestions for places to get loans while in school? Help! Any suggestions or advice is super helpful...Im currently going to be attending Los Angeles county college of nursing and would love to get any feedback for that program as well. Thanks!

A super quick glance at your other threads shows you are at a community college, aka ADN program, soooo clearly you didn't read anyone's comments that it would only be possible in an ADN program....

Only one other person besides yourself mentioned ADN program's and that person said it would be possible. Your quote "MAYBE in an ADN as people have said, although I still doubt that because ADN programs are very intense as well"

Posts 3 and 7 mentioned they did it or it was possible to do it. So clearly, again, you jump to conclusions without backing them up with facts

You keep stalking me now

You can do whatever you want. So go ahead and work full time and go to nursing school rull time and then get back to us and let us know how you are doing once your clinicals start.

If someone has worked full time with a family while in nursing school; it must be the second coming of Jesus. Because nursing school is extremely difficult.

Yea... I did it.

I guess Jesus came 2 years ago...

I had a young child.

I was in a regular-paced BSN program.

I worked 12 hour evenings/nights.

I studied very little at work.

I had very flexible scheduling.

I did well in nursing school.

I passed the NCLEX on the first try in 75 questions in less than an hour.

I'm in NP school now.

Others working full time with me were also in nursing school.

Possible.

Very hard work.

Very tired all the time.

Not fun.

I missed most of the hangouts and bonding with family, coworkers, and classmates.

I always felt like an outsider.

I missed a lot of time with my son.

I ended up moving back in with my family.

I don't recommend it unless you have no other means of living.

That Jesus thing was sarcasm, everyknows it can be done. Easy work. Single pregnant working full time with two toddlers and was top of the class.

I attended an LPN to BSN bridge program FT and worked FT. Work schedule Fri, Sat, Sun either 3pm - 3 am or 7pm - 7am (which meant sometimes leaving work and going straight to class/lab or vica versa if I had to work Friday at 3pm). This meant that I sometimes did not get home until afternoon after working all night and then having class in the morning. Was single at the time with no children. During my LPN program I did not work full time. I worked part time every Sat & Sun for 1/2 the year. Last 1/2 the year I worked only every other weekend. When I completed my capstone project/final clinical experience on a med/surg floor with a preceptor - I was not able to work and had to switch from full time to PRN because the hours required to finish the clinical were FULL TIME hours. I basically worked the schedule my preceptor worked which included night/day shifts and weekends. I could not have possibly been at my job and the clinical both full time.
