Nursing Student Uniforms??

What do nursing students wear as their uniform?? At least in the area of Northern Virginia...are they totally different by school? I was just curious to know if I'm going to look like a dork! :chuckle

Yeah, I just had my orientation today and you're exactly right! I guess it could be worse....but we do look like a maid service!

Yeah, NOVA's uniforms are pretty horrid -- white pants and white polo top (you can choose your own) with a green and white striped smock that gets in the way of everything. Even most of the faculty make fun of it. The good news is that rumor has it that they're getting a new uniform next year (starting fall 2006).

At my school it's all white with a white smock overtop - ICK!!! If the smock weren't bad enough... all WHITE???? I already work at a hospital, so I'm already used to wearing whatever color/print scrubs I want, and I own not a single piece of white uniform... to hard to keep clean. Ah, well, at least nursing school doesn't last forever! One of the local 4 yr private universities gets to wear sky blue polo shirts with the school logo - lucky ducks. They still have to wear the white pants though, and I guess anything's better than the ugly OR green scrubs the local tech school has to wear!

Our uniform is white bottoms (skirt or pants) with a hunter green pullover top...no scrubs. Not sure what other type of pullover there is except a polo shirt (yuck). And hunter green is definite NOT "my color"!! :no: LOL

I'm attending Tidewater Tech in Norfolk, and I'm taking LPN program, we can wear whatever scrubs we want, print Or solid color! BUT, every school is different! :chuckle

Of course you will look like a dork, but believe it or not, when you put that uniform on for the very first time, it will be one of the proudest moments of your life! Suddenly dorky is couture! And believe it or not, people will envy you! I dreaded that uniform but that uniform had inspired me to be a greater person and had changed my life forever.

P.S. I don't miss it though!

We wear royal blue scrub top and pants with white shoes. simple and not dorky lol:chuckle
