I was wondering if there is anything (school supplies or such) that you guys would recommend for someone just starting nursing school. I want to be as prepared as possible. I appreciate any ideas :)

I was going to say (recommend)............................RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS.

Guess thats not what you are looking for.

:pSomeone had to say it though.

wait till you are told what to buy. No need in wasting $

I agree with the idea of waiting until you start, and then buy what they tell you that you need.

I know my school sold a pack of supplies in the school bookstore. The pack had bandage sissors, hemostat, penlight, etc...Cheaper than trying to buy each one individually.

Invest in a good stethoscope, anything other than a Littman is a waste of money IMO

Might want to wait on this too. When I started nursing school, our entering class put in a group order for stethoscopes and got a discounted group rate.

I agree that Littman is a good brand. My only other recommendation is to get some color other than black. Most people seem to choose black, which means if you pick a different color, it's much less likely that someone else will mistake your stethoscope for theirs.

I agree. We had one student in our class who wanted to be a go getter, and he bought all the supplies possible. Including the super expensive cardiology stethoscope with a mic in it...needless to say, over the top and a waste of money.
