Hello everyone, I am starting nursing school this fall and have been a regular in the pre-nursing forum for a while now.
Well, I had a miscarriage about 2 weeks ago (just 6 wks along)...The fetus was lost due to my exposure to Fifth's disease (my 3 yr old had it a few weeks ago).
My question is...how long does the bleeding typically last? And can I get anemic from it?
I have never miscarried before, so I am not sure what is normal. I have heard that some women can bleed for up to a month or more!
The dr ruled out ectopic pg, but that is about all I know.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

I am so sorry for your loss. As a person who suffered through 6 miscarriages I can only tell you of my experiences. I lost 3 of my 6 at about 6-7 weeks along. I bled a bit longer than a period lasts for me and a bit heavier. I would suggest keeping in contact with your Dr though, just incase. The other 3 losses I had to have D&C's for, they were at 9, 11 and 8 weeks along.
Thank you ladies, I plan to go to the dr for my 3rd beta levels tomorrow. I am pretty sure it's all normal. Hopefully she will put my mind to ease.
A first (m/c) is always a bit scary though.
Best to all of you in your MUCH APPRECIATED roles in society!
Lots of admiration here!

Glad you're going to see your doc. Hopefully, all will be back to normal soon and you will feel better.
