nursing student in louisiana

U.S.A. Oklahoma

I am currently in clinical at a Louisiana University in the Associate Degree Program for RN. I am wanting to transfer to an Oklahoma University with an AD program in the Tulsa area. I need any information on this type of program that anyone can provide. I am so glad I found this site. Any information or input would be helpful with making this decision. Thank you.

Welcome to allnurses. My opinion is that you should stay and complete your ADN at LU if at all possible. I say this because you may lose time by transferring due to everything not transferring, different pre-reqs in the new program you don't have or not getting into an ADN program in Tulsa due to limited number of spaces for classes.

That said, however, there are ADN programs at Tulsa Community College (http://www.tulsacc.edu and search for nursing) and Roger's State University in Claremore which is near Tulsa (but not very near).

Thankyou for your information. I am going to continue on with my Curriculum in La. but all the while requesting info from the schools you mentioned. I am definitely not going to give up my spot where I am but I just thought I would find out what is out there.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I believe that OSU-Okmulgee has an ADN program as well. However, that's not exactly the Tulsa area.

If you are in NS already, Dottimur is right in that you may want to consider staying in LA to finish up. The number of spots is very limited in Tulsa. Don't mean to discourage you, just wanted to let you know what may lie ahead in Tulsa.

Best of luck to you.
