Hello,
I am currently a nursing student about to graduate in June with my BSN in Oregon. I got a DUI when I was 21 in Oregon in 2012, but completed a diversion program in which it was expunged from my record. Just recently, I received another DUI in 2019. I am getting ready to submit my application to the Oregon State Board of Nursing and am curious if anyone else has been through something similar... I am wanting to know if I should be upfront about the second DUI even though I am not convicted yet. What are my chances of being licensed?
I have an attorney who specializes in DUI cases who is getting me into a treatment program that includes AA meetings, etc. It has been my dream to become a nurse and I am freaking out... I made a very bad mistake, twice... but I am taking an oath of sobriety.
Please provide any insight you may have!

Your biggest problem is that it happened and it happened in 2019. If you just had the 11/12 DUI, I'd be inclined to think the Oregon BON might be a little less concerned. This happened while you were in nursing school. That's a pretty serious error in judgment for a medical professional, soon to be licensed.
I don't know Oregon, but in my state, you'd got straight to monitoring. Here you wouldn't have a narc restriction and you'd probably only get 2 years vs 5 years monitoring. I don't know anything about Oregon's monitoring system.
Good luck! Just know that if you do get monitoring, you'll make it through. It's expensive and a pain, but doable. Just don't drink, they will always catch you.
Just wanted to report that I did in fact get my nursing license but was placed in a 4 year monitoring program.
