Neuro test coming up...

Nursing Students Student Assist

I plan on reading my book top to bottom, and reviewing my notes hardcore, but if any of you can offer any other advice/tips/websites, I will greatly appreciate it.

My instructors really hit hard on "initial" signs/smptoms, and/or "Late maifestaions" of diseases, like lets say, ICP. I tend to really get manifestains mixed up since alot of the time they are virtually the same.

They also hit hard on, "immediate" post-op care concerns.

An early sign for almost everything neuro is changes in LOC. You also don't want to do ANYTHING to increase ICP. Proper positioning of pt is important (head neutral, limbs flat (not elevated or dangling) and most importantly HOB up, bowel regimen (avoids Valsalva), watch fluids, pain control. Know Glasgow coma scale. I have a lot more info, but it's in the car. I have a neuro/respiratory exam on Thurs as well. Good luck!
