I went through the same thing with one of my instructors. I swear if that woman had the choice she would have gladly failed me. She only made comments about my abilities in clinicals when I was doing wrong, never when I did something right.

Just keep doing what you're doing and don't let her get to you. Do your best and take lots of deep breaths.

You'll make it :)

Getting the hang of keeping on top of things in the clinical situation is extremely hard. I am starting as a nursing assistant to get some experience and just to learn the tricks of the trade. I keep busy by watching the other nurses, aides, see what they do. I keep moving and asking myself, (of course in my head), "what should I be doing now?". I keep peeking out in the hallway for the instructor to ask about meds, etc while I am doing all the stuff that we should be doing... Good luck!!

HI!

Don't let yourself get too down, I know it's tough to get a warning, but if it helps any, my first semester clinical instructor gave me three, yes THREE in my first semester!! She was AWFUL, one of my friends also got three, and I don't know anyone that didn't get at least one from this instructor!

I am now in 3rd semester (graduate in 6 months) and believe me, you just gotta get through this semester! I am flying through now, and have had 2 fabulous clinical instructors since then! Pick your chin up and stay strong, you can do it!

CHEERS & GOOD LUCK!

Put your big girl pants on and step up.

It will be a hard transition into the Nursing role but you will be expected to be a leader in the healthcare team. You are the first and last defense of your patients, if you cannot make your own needs known and defend yourself and your actions then how can you defend your patient's needs and make their priorities known?

Be bold, confident, efficient and safe!
