I am sure it is no where near That ratio. I work at a hospital that is connected with St Anthony's and our pt to nurse ratio is either 5 0r 6 to 1. We are also a magnet hospital. The Baycare system is the best hospital system to work for in the Tampa Bay area. I would never work with a 8 or 10 ratio. That is just plain dangerous! That is a good way to loose your RN license.
Hey NurseJi,
Thanks for the reply. I am starting next month on the surgery/tele unit, perm nights. I've been working surgery for 6 years. My husband is working critical care. So will I be working with you? Is the unit primary care? Do you have to do everything for those patients or do we work with PCA's/nurse techs/CNA's?? Just wondering about some fun safe places to live/rent in St. Petersburg? Sorry for all the questions but I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. :) Thanks
I Have an interview with St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg this week for a new med/surg unit opening this month. I am NOT a new grad (most info on here is for new grads), I have 6 years RN experience. I was wondering if anyone out there has any info regarding this hospital. I am relocating from Canada and my husband works critical care as an RN. I know that it is a busy hospital but my current med/surg unit has a 10:1 or 8:1 RN/Patient ratio so I don't mind hard work. ANY info about the hospital and area would be very much appreciated as it seems to be very hard to find. Thanks
If I'm not mistaken, this is a Baycare hospital. Baycare runs about 6 hosptials in the area, you can Google for more info. They are all great hospitals as far as patient stats, awards, people speak highly of Baycare hospitals, that kind of thing. I am not a nurse but know someone at another Baycare hospital, so as far as benefits and things like that, I have only heard great things. I don't know anything about the working environment at St. Anthony's specifically, from an employee point of view, sorry.
