Hello everyone,
I am a registered nurse from Germany. I finally found a state to except my degree from germany. I took the NCLEX in El Paso tx but for the state of California. I know it's weird but that is the only way I could sit for the boards at all. I am working on transfering my license to Texas now. I am applying everywhere for a Nursing job but since I need sponsorship. So far all the major hospitals turned me down since it's an expense for them. I understand there councern but at the same time they make such a big thing that the United States is short on Nurses. Can anybody help me please? I would appreciate any advise I just want to finally work as a Nurse after 5 years of fighting for it.

Generally the country issuing a student visa is expecting you to return home once completed studies, it shouldn't be used as a means to move. Secondly the army may not still be accepting Foreign citizens and if that is the case once you have used OPT you may have no option but return home or look at another country.
