NPR radio recently said that Dayton, OH has the largest shortage in the US. Where they got their info, I don't know.

Dayton, OH has a community college that accepts students fall, winter, and spring into their RN program (~25-40 per qtr). Wright State University has admitting classes fall and spring, ~80 students in each class (4yr BSN). There are also 2 LPN programs in the area + 3 additional nursing programs within 30 minutes of Dayton. The local hospitals have to be loving the bonanza of students rotating through clinicals.
