Right here in my brand new textbook, copyright 2015, chapter 1, page 9, "The United States continues to face a nursing shortage."

Might have to just take you up on this.....hehehehe.....yes there is a nursing shortage....there is a shortage of nurses with experience! I get so tired of seeing nursing jobs in my area say....Not for New Grads! So I cast my net wider and may have to move.
The experience factor plays into many positions available in Florida as well. The BSN is another thing for some areas of the state.
Most are yes for experienced nurses but some also prefer rather than require it. memorial Herman has a nursing fellowship for new grad to gain experience & specialize. There are some with a catch like "will consider new grad if facility can provide 6 month orientation" or some will require a BSN. I also know a few people that have been hired during nursing school by top hospitals like Texas children's and MD Anderson
If you apply to a job in a different state, do people find that employers will generally subsidize their moving expenses?
For a new grad, no. For a hard-to-fill experienced specialty employee, or equally hard-to-fill in management? Sometimes yes.
With a lot of applicants for run-of-the-mill positions who are right outside the door, employers don't need to pick up any extra costs in moving someone from out of State.

This is what has been trending...my path back to working in an acute care setting gets longer each time I get closer to finishing a degree...please let them stop at a BSN minimum...I need to pay off my own student loans before my child goes to college!
