Nursing shoes: Dansko or Doc Martens?

I'm a nursing student and start clinicals this summer, so I'm in the market for a really good shoe. I've done a lot of searching and reading in past threads about which brands seem to be best and Dansko continually comes up as one, but I've also read a few good reviews on Doc Martens. The main thing that's steering me away from Dansko is that people have complained that they're heavy. On zappos.com I read 2 reviews of Doc Marten's style 9A61 that said they are more comfortable than Danskos. Have any of you been able to compare these 2 brands and if so, which did you like better?

I would get open backed clogs if I could and this would open up more shoe possibilities, but since we must get white, enclosed shoes I found the Dr. Martens and Danskos to be the most appealing so far.

Thanks for any feedback!

My first pair of shoes out of nursing school were white leather Clark's Wallabees. I would go for a closed clog and always remember to wear those support hose.

Closed clog, that can be CLEANED, never know what's going to be spilled down your leg and into or onto your shoes, believe me, if I hasn't happend to you, give it time, eventually it will happen.

started with birkenstocks then went to Danskos when the birkenstocks were stolen. yes they are a bit pricey for a nursing student, but your feet will thank you for it. Just remember to lock them up.

I love my Dansko's! :) It took me so long til I finally bought a pair and I will never go back. I used to wear Klogs brand and they made my feet sweat like crazy.

I vote for Birkenstocks.

I've had two pairs of Dansko's and never found them to be heavy at all. Actually, the Doc's that I've owned were heavy...
