My dream wrist watch - can't find it

Hello All,

I am on a hunt for my perfect wrist watch for nursing school and I cannot seem to find it. My *perfect* watch has all of the following criteria. I've looked through alot of the watch posts but cann't seem to find something with all of these features.

1. Jelly/rubber/plastic band for easier cleaning

2. Analog - can also be both analog and digital but must have the sweeping second hand

3. Lights up or glows in dark

4. Includes military time

5. Includes date/day of week

6. Larger, easy to read display

Am I asking for too much here? :o

the watch I bought for school fits some of that criteria - I bought a Slap watch - like the slap bands from the 80's - well now they come in a watch - all rubber can be cleaned/disinfected and you can also remove the watch face and interchange with different colors...I bought mine at my local Lane Bryant store but you can find them online in different sizes/colors

Thanks for the tip Twinmom. ill have to try to look up these slap watches online. I did fine something similar, but it doesn't have the slap feature and has the regular buckle.

the only thing this is missing is the date and it doesn't light up.

I just ordered this watch the other day. And no, I did not pay that price for it. I had a gift card that made it significantly cheaper. It has the main features that I wanted:

Lights in the dark...or glows, I think....

Military time

Silicone wristband

Water resistant

Date display

I found mine at Walmart for 10.00 and it's pink! Everything you require, this watch has it. I can't find it online, but found it while browing the watch section. I hope you can find it!

Oh really?? I will have to check Walmart again. I checked once and they didn't have much but perhaps everything was picked over. I'm going to have to check another Walmart!

Does the one you found have a brand or was it just a no brand kind?

I just bought a Timex Ironman watch today - it is fully digital with date, 24 hour (military) time and it counts the seconds continuously...it is gray, dark gray and light purple and the band is silicone...it lights up (indiglo)...I got it at Walmart for $33..

I originally bought this watch because it has a calorie counter and I wanted to see how much I was burning at the gym but I came to find out that it wasn't accurate and I started using it at work and it is the perfect watch for a nurse. It has the day of the week, date, and time right there. It glows in the dark, the seconds are visible (if you need to count respirations), it has a timer (which I use when I do breathing treatments so I don't forget to go back and check on them- yes I know you're supposed to stay with them but c'mon now) and i believe you can switch it to military time if you want. It also has a pedometer on it which is nice feature considering I get curious how many steps I walk throughout the day (usually between 10000-12000). It's a life saver at work, I look at it over 100x a day!

Unfortunately we aren't allowed to have digital only watches. We are required to get a watch with a second hand. If that wasn't a requirement I would love some of these suggestions!

So, it is official and I have finally ordered my watch. lol AFter a long hard search I think it is perfect. Analog Digital combo- and the digital can be set to military time. It should arrive in the mail today! I can't wait to get it.

I found this Timex Unisex Camper Watch T2N876 that seems to fit your requirements. Does anyone else feel that their Timex ticks too loudly though?
