Nursing school at TWU with a C in A&P 1

Published

Hey there,

I just finished A&P1 and got a C. I had a hard time this semester finding time to put into my studies with working full time, 2 kids, and volunteering. I have since quit volunteering but it was a little too late. I want to go to TWU for their night/weekend program. All my other pre reqs are A's & B's, except for Chem, I have a C as well. I hated that class and I'm surprised I even passed.

I really don't want to retake so I thought Id ask what my chances were to get into nursing school at TWU. I'm thinking about applying anyways and if I don't get in the first time then Ill retake it.

Thoughts?

I think your original thought is right. You go ahead and apply and then see what happens. You can also call the school and let them know you have two Cs and ask what your chances are. You did not mention what program you will be applying: ASN or BSN? If ASN, you may have more luck here than in BSN.

Hello, I am planning on applying to TWU evening/wkend program for Fall 2018. I will be done with all my pre-reqs this year. I'm taking Micro and A&P 2 in the summer (different summer sessions not at the same time) and Intro to Chem and Elem Stats in the fall. If you are thinking about applying to the evening and wkend program and have the chance to take the classes over before the deadline then I would do it. (my opinion) Because from what I've seen from previous boards the evening and wkend program is very competitive also with their only being about 30 seats and a lot of the people who I've noticed were getting accepted were those who have a previous Bachelor degree and or TWU bump, or who had a 4.0 (nursing core) GPA with 90 or above TEAS scores. Again, this is just based on info I've seen so im trying hard to get that 4.0 Nursing core GPA and a 90 or above for the TEAS

oh, and let me add, im taking A&P 1 this semester and will finish with an A, Nutrition (A) and Dev psyc (A). I also work full time and have a 2yr old so I def understand trying to find time to study. :)

I ended up getting a B in that class. I am going to move on and try and if I don't get in I will retake the classes I got a C in and try again.
