I start my third semester (of five) of an ADN program on Tuesday, too. I'm both excited AND nauseous about it! But this semester we get to do a surgical rotation and we have OB/ women's health, so that's going to be very interesting. Also, right away we get to learn to start I.V.s and draw blood, and I'm looking forward to that. Not looking too forward to the dosage calc test I will probably have in the first two weeks, though. Oh well. Glad we started clinicals last semester, so I don't have to be nervous about that!
Good luck to all of you.

I always find it interesting to hear how different programs are structured. We start clinical in about 3 weeks during our FIRST semster!! I'm a little nervouse, but mostly just excited and thrilled to get in there and start working

I think it's interesting, too. At first I was upset that we woulnd't be starting clinicals in the first semester, like most schools do. But in our first semester we learn our skills and the fundamentals of nursing, which was all kind of overwhelming on it's own. They also had alot of assignments for us to do, like videoes to watch, etc. It was nice to go into clinicals in the second semester and not have to worry about learning how to insert a foley or give a bed bath, because we had already learned that. Plus, we had to learn how to give meds that semester, so that was daunting enough without all of the other skills and stuff thrown in along with it.
I have orientation on Tuesday and classes start Wednesday. We also don't start clinicals in the first semester we have Pathophysiology, Fundamentals, Assesssment, etc. I am kinda disappointed not to start clinicals right away and also kinda of relieved to not have the extra pressure of clinicals. Congrats to all that have made it this far and good luck during school this will be an unforgettable journey!
I had family orientation last Thursday, then this Thursday I have a 4 hour orientation (lots of paperwork I hear) then start classes on Monday.
the first 8 weeks we have no clinicals, dosage calculations/pharmocology, theory, med/surg, lab and fundamentals.
second 8 weeks adds clinicals and drops med calc/pharm
definitely and scared all together.....
