Hi! I am attending Cochran School of Nursing in Yonkers. I can't help you with Saint Vincent's, I have never heard of it.

Good Luck!

I haven't ever heard of that one but "near" me there is: CCC (Cayuga), CCC (Corning), TC3, BCC (Broome), and SUNY Binghamton...as you can tell I live toward PA...

There is a great thread in the New York nurse's section about St. Vincent's if you are looking for information.

Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY ( i am attending there) Suny IT, Utica College (sister college of Syracuse, NY). There are tons more but after my two years at MVCC i will me going to attending Suny IT for my BS.

yangzoo I thought you said you were a freshman at Saint Vincents....

Hi Ponchie, sorry for the confusion. My cousin was using my ID to get information about nursing schools. She is trying in Beth Isreal, which I heard is a very good school; but one of her college prof. recommended St. Vincent. :) She is bit confused about it. Anyway, she just signed up as a new user so it would be fine. I'm the one in St Vincent. Good Luck n' thanks for ur response. I received the mail today about FAFSA and Loan.

I am getting ready to start the math and Chemistry prereq at Helene Fuld college of nursing. Has any one attended this school? I live on LI and was thinking about Farmingdale but by the time I take all their required courses

and apply for the nursing program.. it will be so far away. I am confused

and dreading the commute to the city.

Hi! I go there, the math and chem course is not too bad, its 3 weeks of math and then basic inorganic chem and a little of organic chem in the mix. The commute can be a little rough, my advice is to take all the preq at local community and then transfer to Helene Fuld for the nursing. I don't recommend trying to do the whole program in a year, preq and nursing it can be rough. You will not be able to work at all and have a life either.

:nurse:Thanks rosey... I wanted to take A&P at Farmingdale but they require Algebra and Biology first and I only scored a 2 on the written exam so I have to take their English. I am going to clep the Human Development, and the Sociolgy and intro to Psych. I start this friday for the math and Chem.

That's a good idea, try to get as many courses out of the way as possible before taking the nursing courses. The nursing courses are very time consuming.
