I'm not sure what to think. I'm about 39 days and 3 tests from graduating my RN/BSN program. I got a 90 on my first test and a 68 on the second one. My test average is now a 79, and a 78 or higher is required to pass. The thing that really scares me is that I have to keep my average above a 78 for the next three tests, but I feel like this is out of my control. For my last test I read every chapter did every assignment and studied for literally weeks and my grade was still failing miserably. I feel that there is nothing else I can do. I heard that the class average on this test was a 75. I don't feel like they care if we pass or fail. I can't even be happy about being almost done because If I fail this class I'll be kicked out of the program in the final hour with 30,000 of student loan debt. I had to repeat peds lasts year and that was the only repeat they allow. Just one. And they don't bend rules. I'm just freaked out. Any advice?
After this post I was able to pull it together. I just studied constantly and read every little thing I could. I also re-listened to our class lectures over and over again. I am so happy to say that on my 3rd test I got a 96, on the fourth a 90, and the final test for my AS RN program is tomorrow. I need a 40% on it to pass the class. Hard work does pay off. Happy Tears!
Indeed Hard Work always pays off!!!!...I'm very happy for you!! ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

Congratulations, you got this!! That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!!:)
Congrats. I have been watching you tube after you tube of videos of people's experiences in nursing school and your not the first one that says that they studied and did not pass or received a lower score then what they thought they were going to get. If one study technique doesn't work then trying another might be your best option. Instructors design those tests to be hard for a reason, so that you can be a better nurse and be able to pass that NCLEX exam and to be able to practice as an actual nurse in the future.
Happy studying. :)
OMGGGG.. my daughter just did that mess of a comment and I have no idea how to delete it.But I don't start nursing school until this August and this is one of my worst fears. I'm also in a program where if you fail one class (failing is anything below 77) you may repeat but that's your one and only repeat. It's very discouraging. This is our lives so to speak. Have your scores always been around this same average? How many classes are you taking?
You have made it this far though, you got this.
This is why you must start NCLEX prep on the very first day of school. This helps tremendously in preventing this kind of problem.

What helps me to study better is to rewrite lecture notes, highlight in the readings, try to answer any questions at the end of the chapters.
