Hello, everyone! :) I'm currently transitioning into my senior year of high school and have been deeply researching about the role of nurses. I am nearly certain that nursing is absolutely the best career I could go into. I love the flexibility, the comfortable salary, and the important role nurses play in patient care.
I would like some information on nursing school such as:
I want information about BSN programs, specifically; however, any and all help/guidance is highly appreciated.
Thank you and go nurses!
IMP stands for Interactive Math Program. It's trig, algebra, and geometry all in one course. It's a lot easier than what it looks like, in fact, it's considered a level below algebra. I do plan on taking my SAT's again. I'm attending a five day prep course along with using a McGraw-Hill SAT test prep book to aid me.
Thank you for your help! :)
medicallycurious, it is good that you are asking those that are nurses. Not knowing what a CNA is, tells me you need to do some additional research and reading into nursing, it is not what you see on TV. Yes there is some flexibility in nursing as far as what area or specialty you would like to go in too. Yes the money is pretty good, this also depends on your specialty area, and what type of facility you work in. Nursing is not for the weak of heart. As many others have said, you need to look into a CNA class right now, this will give you a good idea if nursing is the right fit for you. Many community colleges have a dual enrollment program that allows for you to take college courses while you are in high school. I'm an old nurse so I know I am a bit old fashioned but money needs to be fairly low on the totem pole as a reason to be a nurse in order for you to have a happy, successful, and long career in nursing. You must Love what you do, and you will have times you will wonder why you chose nursing, but if you head into it for the right reasons knowing it can be a dirty job, and physically, and mentally demanding, you will survive those times. Good luck we need many qualified, caring, compassionate, and thick skinned nurses to take care of us old baby boomers. Good Luck and keep asking questions, and reading. The best part of knowing if you will like nursing is to get in there and start wiping a few bums. The first time you may gag or puke, but it will pass.
