Hello to all fellow nurses and soon to be nurses. I'm going to start my nursing journey finally this year. I have been a pct for about 8 years and I have everything planned out for school so far. I have two children and I'm going to start a one year lpn program and plans are to bridge into a rn program. Any advice and any insight on schools will be nice.

Before starting LPN classes, have you thought about where you'll be working after you graduate? In Chicago the LPN demand is limited. Go to Job Search | one search. all jobs. Indeed.com and compare the number of hits you get with LPN vs RN openings.
Do you get tuition reimbursement where you are now? Is going into a RN program a possibility?
In either case, good luck to you.
P. s. I think it's illinois.nursing. gov that h as all nursing programs listed. Be sure to compare pass rates.
Yes, I work in a hospital now and my job offers tuition reimbursement. My plan is to get hired here and work in one of our clinics.
