Anyone have gotten acceptances yet?
I GOT IN!!!:yeah:
I got my acceptance to George Brown College, Practical Nursing Program, it's a 2 year program, starts ithis Sep.
I did the PN admissions test on Feb 27, and got an Acceptance showing on OCAS on March 2!!! And they said it might take 3 weeks!?! It took them 1.5 business days to accept me!
I was so shocked, I logged out, and back in just to make sure it wasn't a glitch
, and then I was jumping with joy!!!

I've done this test last year, and didn't get in for Sep. 2009, so I started Pre-Health Science at GBC (1 year prog.) Now I'm almost done. This Pre-Health really helped. I didn't take any sciences past gr.10 in HS, and I had no idea what I was doing on the test last time I took it. Taking Pre-Health Science made all the difference
! I'm so happy I took that program! During the test I felt pretty confident that I would get in, and I did!!! I GOT IN!!! YAY!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!
:yeah:
After I'm done this I'm planning to bridge into RN by taking the RPN to RN program (1year) at Centennial, and then doing 2 years Post-Diploma B.Sc.N. at Ryerson University, and I'll be an RN in 2015!!! :) Yay!
I have a question for those who went that route: What did it take (in terms of GPA) to get into that bridging program and what it takes to get into the Post-Diploma B.Sc.N. at Ryerson? And is it true that if you do very, very well in your PN program you can get into the Post-Diploma B.Sc.N. without the bridge? (I hear rumors) Thanks. :)
For everyone trying to get in anywhere, persevere! If you believe, you can achieve! Good luck to everyone!
:)
I have a few questions for you and I'm hoping you can answer!! I am starting Pre health at Georgian in Barrie in Sept b/c I didn't have the pre requisites for any of the nursing programs. Were you able to apply for the RPN even though you hadn'nt finished your pre health? Do you know if the PN admissions test there would be the same as the HOAE (health occupations aptitude exam) that they have at Georgian?
Also, if you want to be an Rn, why aren't you taking a collaborative program for just BScN, it would take you less school time. The one we have here is 2 years at Georgian @ years at York. I know they offer them at many GTA colleges as well. Congrats by the way!

i got accepted into year 2 of the BScN at the university of ottawa (as an alternative offer to the 2nd-entry program). which is cool! but for some reason i can't take any of the actual NSG courses in the 2010-2011 year -- so with the exception of taking maybe 1-2 classes next year, it's almost like a deferral... which... kind of annoying because i would have liked to start fulltime right away, but financially this might work better for me so i can save some extra money. hmm. well ultimately i was offered admission to a BScN program, so i guess i should be super thankful!
