Nursing School Acceptance

Hello everyone! I am really excited right now. About 2 months ago I applied to my first choice school's nursing program. Well, I missed the points by 2 and was not selected. However, I was selected for my second choice college nursing program which begins in Jan 08.

Well, 3 days ago my first choice college called and said that someone dropped out and that I was next on the list and the spot was mine if I wanted it. Of course I said yes. So now I will begin nursing school on Monday morning instead of waiting until Jan. I can hardly wait. So, I had to run around like a chicken with my head cut off to get registered for classes, get uniforms, books, etc. It's okay, because I am in.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect in the first semester. Is the first semester just basic nursing like bed baths, etc.? Also, I was wondering if I need to take all my books to class on the first day or what? I am so excited until I can hardly sleep. Please give advice.

CONGRATS.................. Our first 3 months clinicals are in nursing homes. I think each school varies with their approach to clinicals. If I were you and weren't sure about what books to take either get you a roll-luggage cart and throw them all in, or take them and have them in the trunk of your car so you can have easy access to them. EVERYONE at my nursing program has luggage on wheels. GOOD LUCK
