What do nurses need to know, in respect to a Respiratory Technicians position? For example, nurses assess basic vital signs (BP, TEMP, HR, etc...). What is it that nurses need to know from their scope of practice? OR what can nurses do an RT can do? Normal vs. Abnormal figures... etc Thanks.

The first thing you need to learn is the correct term is Respiratory THERAPIST, not technician. Second scope of practice varies at each facility.

I loved RT and learned as much as I could from them. Many of the ones I knew had master's degrees in physiology or other advanced discipline. There is no reason you can't learn everything YOU can from them, too.

There is no "what can they do vs. what can we do." This sort of task-based outlook on professionalism is very limited.

You can look up normals for whatever you're asking about (maybe blood gases?).
